In response to the escalation in measures to counter the spread of the Covid-19 virus, we would like to reassure participant employers and operatives that the JIB-PMES office remains open operating with a reduced staff. Despite this we remain fully operational and at hand to help and assist JIB-PMES participant companies and their operatives through these trying times.

Sickness Benefit

One way in which we are actively supporting employers is through the operation of the JIB-PMES sickness benefit scheme. This is open to all Holiday Credit and Welfare benefit participant employers and allows operatives who are self-isolating as a result of Covid-19 access to sickness benefit pay (at their specified grade) while they are away from work.

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

The JIB-PMES keeps fully briefed on the rapidly evolving package of government support for business in response to the Covid-19 pandemic we are therefore well placed to offer advice and guidance on how the various support schemes can be accessed and the levels of support they can provide to JIB-PMES participant employers and their operatives.

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, through which employers can apply to HMRC for a grant to cover 80% of the wages of retained workers who are furloughed (granted leave of absence from work); along with other initiatives, potentially offers much needed assistance to JIB-PMES participant employers and their operatives.
