PMES Supervisor gold card
JIB-PMES CSCS SUPERVISOR GOLD CARD:
VALID FOR UP TO 5 YEARS
Eligibility
PMES Supervisor gold cards are issued to applicants who can provide evidence of having completed an appropriate Level 3 or Level 4 PMES related N/SVQ or equivalent qualification (for more detail of what is acceptable, please check the PMES Supervisor application form).
Where applicants have completed a ‘generic’ (i.e. non-construction specific) Level 3 supervisory qualification, e.g.:
- L3 N/SVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision
This must also be accompanied by a recognised L2 or L3 PMES related N/SVQ or equivalent qualification.
All applications must be accompanied by an employer endorsement which confirms that the applicant is working in a PMES supervisory role in accordance with the PMES supervisory criteria as specified in the application form.
All applicants must also provide evidence of having passed one of the following:
- CITB Supervisory HSE test;
- CITB Managers and Professionals test;
- CITB SSSTS or SMSTS course;
- CCNSG ‘Leading a Team Safely’ course;
- IOSH ‘Managing Safely’ course*.
No other H&S test exceptions or ‘equivalent’ tests or qualifications will be accepted.
*If the IOSH ‘Managing Safely’ course is being used as evidence of having met the H&S test requirement for the card, the completion date on the certificate must be within two years of the card application date. Cards which are supported by the IOSH ‘Managing Safely’ course will be valid for a maximum of 3 years.
Renewal (Update 30th June 2024)
Supervisor gold cards originally issued through Industry Accreditation can no longer be renewed. All Supervisor cards that were originally issued under Industry Accreditation will have an expiry date of no later than 31st December 2024 – regardless of when the H&S test validity expires.
Anyone wishing to renew a PMES Supervisor gold card will now have to meet the qualification requirements detailed above. If you have any queries regarding this, please email PROcard@jib-pmes.org.uk
Fees
The standard card fee is £40. Cards are FREE to members of Unite the Union and employees of participant companies whose company is purchasing Holiday Credits or Welfare Benefits on their behalf.
If you are applying for a free card, please download a copy of the application form and submit your application either by email or hard copy. We cannot accept online applications for free cards.
Standard turnaround:
Applicants should receive their cards within 28 days of receipt of a correctly completed application form and payment of fee.
Fast track turnaround:
Designed to return cards within 4 working days of receipt of a correctly completed application form and payment of fee.
Fast track rapid processing is an additional £60 (total fee of £100 for Supervisor gold card applications).
Applicable fees are payable at the point of application and are non-refundable.
Note on postage: If you have ordered a card from the JIB-PMES and have not received it in the post, please allow 1 calendar month before ordering a replacement. This allows any cards which may still be in the Royal Mail system to be returned to us as undelivered. This does not apply to fast track applications.
